Question: What skills and or qualifications do you need to become a stockbroker?
Hi, I was wondering what skills or qualifications you need to become a stockbroker in america. I dropped out of school to start a cert III in business (im in year 12) and i realised srockbroking is what i would love to do i do realise with my current situation becoming a stockbroker will be very hard if possible and i am willing to do what is nessary to achieve this. I live in australia and would like to move to america to become a broker. So could you please tell me if i can become a broker and what sort qualifications i would need e.g majoring in finance(what would i need to do that)?

No skill are required only you need to focus on stock market and some of top stocks give you better result if you work hard to analysis it.

Stockbrokers are salespeople. Period. You need to know enough to talk the talk, that is all. There is no education requirement as far as the license goes. Your firm may have one though.
A finance degree is overkill. You don't need to pick investments, your firm will tell you what to sell. This is why they have research departments.
Excellent people and sales skills. If you survive you'll learn what you need to know over time. Lots of brokers don't have a relevant college degree, or even a college degree at all.
