This cannot be forecast and all depends on the resolution of the sovereign debt situation in Spain. If Spain should have trouble paying back (or rolling over) its debt and investors lose substantial amounts of money in the ownership of these sovereign debt instruments, as is now happening in Greece, then both banks may not be in business anymore by year end, as both banks have massive investments and exposure to Spain's and to some extent in Portugal's national debt.
