Question: Are all new IPO’s unveiled at a specific time?
Are all new IPO’s unveiled at a specific time, for example, in the morning once the market opens up? Or is the unveiling of new IPO’s at any random time during market hours (i.e. 10am, 11:30am, 12:05pm)?
Answer:
I personally have only ever seen them open when the market opens on that date. I can't imagine an IPO trying to dictate when they come to market, but I don't know of a specific rule against it.
I will say this though, I would pay waaay less for a company that thought that they could dictate the time of day that their stock is sold.
They have a specified date for listing (and therefore initial trading). On this date they will start trading when the market opens.
